Brendan McNally

Brendan McNally is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and structuring new acquisition and investment opportunities for Spirit.  He also supports the firm’s capital formation and capital markets initiatives.  Mr. McNally has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate industry. 

Prior to joining Spirit, Mr. McNally served as Head of Commercial Real Estate Bridge and Construction Lending at American Equity Investment Life (NYSE: AEL), where he led direct originations, strategy development, and portfolio management.  He was also responsible for sourcing direct investments and programmatic partnerships for the firm’s commercial real estate equity business. 

Before AEL, Mr. McNally was a Director at LoanCore Capital, an asset management firm sponsored by GIC and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board focused on commercial real estate credit.  During his ten-year career at LoanCore, Mr. McNally originated, underwrote, structured, and executed over $2 billion in highly structured senior and subordinate loans across all asset classes and markets.  He also acquired performing and non-performing whole loans, B-notes, and mezzanine loans for the firm’s private equity fund. \ 

Mr. McNally began his career at Wells Fargo in the Commercial Real Estate Banking Group.

Mr. McNally earned his B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
